My love affair with landscape painting started around 2002 after moving from Caloundra to the southern end of Pumicestone Passage. I immediately embraced this pristine environment with its stately mangroves and gentle waters, gaining a deeper understanding of the cycles of the natural world and taking workshops with highly regarded plein air painters, my heroes, when the opportunity arrived.
10 years living and working in bayside Brisbane followed, involving many moves, but I usually ensured I had ‘veranda views’ to paint.
Creativity is a never ending journey that holds a different place in our life at different times. I paint what stirs me visually and emotionally when light plays with nature and studio works usually evolve from these plein air studies.
I continue to be represented by ‘Manly Harbour Gallery’ where I spent so many years painting the wonderful vistas around Manly and Moreton Bay.
2019 saw my return to Caloundra with retirement from work, and the next stage of my journey begins.
The love affair continues …. perhaps with a stronger voice.
I have studied under the direction of:
Maxwell Wilks, Todd Whisson, Warwick Fuller, Peter Abraham, John Wilson, Colley Whisson, Kasey Sealy, Craig Penny and John Corby
